Archives for the month of: September, 2012

I always enjoy an inspiring/ funny quote with my caffeine in the morning.  Maybe you can enjoy these as you start your last Monday in September 2012!

  •  “By working faithfully eight hours a day you may eventually get to be boss and work twelve hours a day.” Robert Frost (Woohoo!)
  • “The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get into the office.” Robert Frost (Don’t let your boss read this one)
  • “Nothing will work unless you do.” Maya Angelou (True, true.)
  • “Find a job you like and you add five days to every week.” H. Jackson Brown, Jr. (Or become independently wealthy?)
  • “Going to work for a large company is like getting on a train. Are you going sixty miles an hour or is the train going sixty miles an hour and you’re just sitting still?” J. Paul Getty (This quote should read getting on a 747?)
  • “When your work speaks for itself, don’t interrupt.” Henry J. Kaiser
  • “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Thomas A. Edison (Does everyone know what overalls are?)
  • “Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work.”  Peter Drucker (They must be dressed in overalls?)
  • “If Botticelli were alive today he’d be working for Vogue.”  Peter Ustinov
  • “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Confucius (Good thing I love my job!!!)

Three years ago our Headquarters building underwent a dramatic transformation and earned LEED®-CI Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Our 68,000 square-foot facility is the site of a former window sash factory dating back 100-plus years. We partnered with SmithGroup, our architectural partner, to create an exceptional workplace environment that’s respectful of the building’s origins and history while in lockstep with the latest technology and progressive sustainable design.

Many of you have visited us in our hometown of Muscatine, IA. For those of you who haven’t been able to make the journey to come see us yet, here is an up close and personal look at the building that I call home Mondays-Fridays.

Follow us on Instagram (a photo sharing app) by searching “honcompany” to get a more intimate look at HON.
