Changing seasons this time of year typically bring to mind deep red, orange, yellow, and brown.  Those colors have been popular again this fall – but Pantone recommends that you look for creative ways to pair warm colors with bright summery tones. Here are 3 of our favorite examples of these color combinations for the end of Fall 2015:

Camel with Turquoise

Add a pop of turquoise to neutral tones

Camel provides such a blank canvas for coupling a bright color. If your office space follows the neutral trend, add a pop of turquoise with desk accessories to be right on target. Check out this palette on our “Office Design & Style Inspiration” board here.

Rustic Orange with Purple

Add a splash of bright purple to rustic orange

Orange comes to mind every fall in the form of pumpkin goodies. But pairing rusting orange with an unexpected purple hue creates a twist on a traditional fall palette. Check out this palette on our “Office Design & Style Inspiration” board here.

Sage Green with Peach

Spruce up sage green with a bright peach

Capture some of summer’s last floral colors with this sage green and peach combination. The peach keeps the look light and fun, while sage reminds that it’s the season of fall. Check out this palette on our “Office Design & Style Inspiration” board here.

This fall, don’t stop at traditional autumn colors. Mix it up with a bright pop. What are your favorite color trends for fall?

Here in the cold Midwest, it’s easy to fall into a boring routine during the winter months. Every day is a battle to stay warm. Thick tights and tall boots conquer my wardrobe in drab colors. I drink black coffee every morning. But it doesn’t have to be this way! Here are some of my favorite ideas for injecting a little color into your work day:

blog1

1. Recharge your wardrobe with the color of the year: Pantone’s Marsala. Invest in a warm scarf, shoes or bag in this versatile winter color. Don’t worry, it will transition just as well to the spring and summer months. If you’re not sure if Marsala is for you, try adding a pop of color someplace small like nail polish, lipstick, or a pocket square.

2. Why not drink your black coffee out of a colorful mug? Years ago a HON friend gifted me with a bright superhero mug to make my mornings more cheerful. Not only do I think of her with every sip of coffee, but it brightens up my desk (and day!)

3. One easy way to add some color to your day is switching up your office supplies. Grab some funky Post-it® notes. Trade in your black pen for purple. Use a pink highlighter. You might be surprised how the little things can put pep in your step.

4. HON partners with Momentum Fabrics to offer several great seating fabrics with Marsala tones. Some of my favorites are Momentum Millennium Cerise, Momentum Tradition Malbec, and Momentum Marathon Pinot. Ask our friendly designers to inject some color into your workspace today!

What are some ways you add color to your workday? How do you add Pantone’s Color of the Year, Marsala, into your office or wardrobe?

Pantone has recently revealed the 2015 color of the year, and it is… Marsala (yes, just like the sauce)!

Not only does this color taste great, but it is taking over the red carpet! The rich, earthy, and classic tone of Marsala translates perfectly to a stunning red carpet dress, a sophisticated accent wall, or a timeless fabric choice for chairs, couches, or pillows. This color may be the Color of the Year 2015, but I don’t think this color will go out of style anytime soon.

HON, being so fashion-forward in work place solutions, offers great fabric choices in shades of Marsala as seen below. These fabrics are great choices to spice up your tired-looking cubicles with shades and pops of this trendy color! Mix with rich woods or polished grays for a refreshingly modern office space.

What do you think of the Color of the Year, Marsala?

As a designer I always find it extremely exciting when the color forecast comes out for the next year.  It’s a good indication of what will be popular in the coming year as far as interiors are concerned.  According to Pantone, there are nine color palettes that are predicted to influence upcoming 2013 interior design trends. Take a look at Casa Sugar’s recent post to learn more about all nine palettes.

These are my 2 favorites:

Pantone’s 2013 Connisseur Palette:  This palette draws from cool neutrals like alyssum white and beechnut green, contrasted with warmer tones of violets and orchids, liquid pink, and deep mahogany, all set against accents of champagne beige and silver.  The palette puts a fresh spin on old-world elegance, with decorative pieces that layer texture.  It’s refined and sophisticated with just the right amount of understated drama.

Pantone’s 2013 Glamour Palette:  This palette conjures the polished sexiness of the art deco era.  Rio red, Monaco blue, tap shoe black, chinchilla, ethereal gray, moonmist and jasper teal make up this color board.  Moodier tones definitely dominate.

Based on the palettes that have been predicted I thought it would be fun to come up with a mock-up rendering using our Voi® line.
