I visited the HON showroom in Chicago at The Merchandise Mart on June 4th and 5th. Since I have never been to the “Mart,” I was immediately surprised at how large the building actually was. The showroom looked amazing! I loved how bright yellows and blues were incorporated with the Flock™ and Motivate™ lines.

I noticed a lot of aesthetic features had been added such as video touch-screens and a structural depiction of the HON “ribbon.” I was able to help with HONigami and stage furniture throughout the showroom. All day people were moving in and out doing run-throughs, delivering packages, and installing lighting/furniture. I had an opportunity to tour different floors of the Mart. I truly enjoyed being able to see first-hand the many style variations in our competitors. I was amazed by all the reconstruction that takes place prior to a show event.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience to see the behind the scenes of NeoCon and be a part of something so massive and important in this industry. I hope to someday visit the Chicago showroom and the Merchandise Mart again.
